This January we are all trying to stay healthy during lockdown 3.0, with many people trying to improve their overall health throughout the final winter months.

Haskapa, a brand new 100% pure plant-based, naturally vegan-friendly superberry powder is here to help you stay healthy throughout January. Berries can be a powerful way to boost our wellbeing. However, fresh berries are out of season in the UK, often flown in from afar and therefore expensive and less fresh. This is where new superberry powder Haskapa comes into its own. This unique and delicious natural superfood product is now available in the UK.

The perfect health-food for those attempting Veganuary or trying to stay healthy throughout January, Haskapa is made exclusively from haskap berries, whose vibrant blue skins and deep crimson flesh contain remarkably high levels of anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are naturally occurring plant pigments, which thanks to new research have been linked to promoting numerous health benefits, while reducing the risks associated with chronic disease. Haskap berries boast one of the highest recorded anthocyanin values of any berry.

One to two teaspoons of Haskapa powder are equivalent to the benefits of eating a handful of fresh berries. Native to northern hemisphere countries, the indigenous Ainu people of northern Japan have been eating haskap berries for centuries, fondly referring to them as ‘the elixir of life’.

With triple the antioxidants of blueberries, haskap berries can be effective in the body’s fight against chronic oxidative stress. Naturally anti-inflammatory, research on dietary anthocyanins has suggested that they may help protect against conditions associated with chronic inflammation.

Anthocyanins are also associated with reducing the risk of cognitive decline as we age. A recent study published by scientists at Tufts University, Massachusetts, showed that older adults who regularly ate higher amounts of anthocyanin-rich foods (such as berries) had a significant four-fold reduction in the risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias.

Now, these 100% natural, plant-power and vegan Haskap berries have been turned into Haskapa, using freeze-drying, which perfectly preserves their unique flavour, colour and naturally high levels of anthocyanins, resulting in a delicious, fuss-free ‘superfood’ that has scientifically proven health benefits. Perfect for all seasons, Haskapa can be added to your smoothies, yogurt and tea, as well as winter warmer recipes such as porridge and pancakes that can give you an effective health kick, without any hassle.

Haskapa is available to purchase from www.haskapa.com RRP £16.00 (100g)

ABOUT HASKAPA

Haskapa was founded by husband and wife team Evie and Simon, a medical doctor and a ‘green’ entrepreneur respectively. The couple began growing haskap berries on their farm in Nova Scotia, Canada back in 2010, and have spent many years researching the benefits of these rare superberries.

Through product development, Evie and Simon discovered that freeze-drying the berries preserved their unique flavour and naturally high levels of anthocyanins, resulting in a delicious, fuss-free ‘superfood’ that has scientifically proven health benefits.
