Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a blend of Japanese malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Presented in the brand’s trademark 24-faceted bottle representing the Japanese seasons, this is light, approachable and moreish with enticing notes of orange peel and white chocolate.

Hibiki Whisky Review:
I started with a glass of Hibiki Harmony Straight Malt Whisky.
I don’t typically indulge in Japanese whisky but this one intrigued me. The liquid possesses an orange hue and has a strong peaty and nutty aroma. A light nose with easy-going taste and a slightly higher ABV. But I liked the Hibiki Harmony flavour – indeed, I enjoyed it so much that I plan to purchase a bottle. The Hibiki Harmony is now my favourite Hibiki Japanese Harmony whisky.

As with all Japanese whiskies, the Hibiki Harmony is produced from malted barley, grains and rice. The barley used for Hibiki Japanese Harmony is sourced from the Ogura barley variety. The mash bill is rich with maltiness as well as a lightly sweet flavor. This is a clear example of a blended whisky, a category that is quite popular in Japan.

Hibiki Japanese Harmony has sentimental value. It’s the drink that my grandfather used to sip on while telling stories before passes away. He used to say, “Getting older, I begin to understand the value of this delicious Japanese whiskey.” This whiskey reminds me of the old times.
Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a straight malt whisky with no added coloring. It is a blend of Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chuhi pure malt whiskies, with a percentage of Chita grain. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is produced from a single distillery as part of a blend.
Hibiki Harmony represents a weekend blend to me. The mixed grain, malt and grain whiskies, blend together to provide a extremely smooth, even drink. One which I will keep for the weekends. Although it’s not a malt, I believe there is a banana flavor at the end. Perhaps that’s a testament to my Japanese heritage.

When I was a child, my mother used to make a chocolate pudding for us. She would let a lot of boiling water evaporate, then add confectioner’s sugar to give it a little sweetness. “This is always good with any kind of coffee”, she said.
Hibiki still has an intense banana flavor, clearly a legacy of its malted barley. But it’s still a yummy whisky. If I had one complaint about Hibiki Japanese Harmony, it would be that it was a little too smooth for my tastes. While it’s definitely good, I had to be careful not to over-drink.

When I first tried Hibiki Harmony I could only say that Hibiki Japanese Harmony was a favourite.
Hibiki Japanese Harmony is quite different to the Hibiki Japanese Harmony I’ve tried before.Whichever way you look at it, Hibiki Japanese Harmony, is a prestige blend and does not only represent the highest quality of Japanese whiskies, it’s considered a hallmark of the Yamazaki distillery.
Not only can Japanese whiskies be extremely smooth, the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is also an excellent dinner companion.
