One of the most famous malts in the world. Glenlivet 12yo has a soft smooth balance of sweet summer fruits and the floral notes of spring flowers.

Glenlivet Whiskey Review:

Glenlivet 12 year old is a nice and smooth blended scotch. A well balanced scotch from the Glenlivet distillery that still holds its head high amongst the other big players in the industry. The Glenlivet distillery remains one of the best distilleries in Scotland. It is no wonder why Glenlivet 12 is one of my top recommended scotch whiskeys.

For me, the important thing with a scotch is the nose and this one does not disappoint. It has a soft roundness that gives the essence of a marriage between an oak wood barrel room and a top shelf of fine whiskey. The floral notes of early spring flowers and the velvety smoothness of an oak barrel give a soft sweetness that sits on soft fruits such as apricots, tangerines and peaches in a summery air of lilacs and honeysuckle.

As you can see from this early word, I’m really enjoying the Glenlivet 12. The highlight for me is the softness of summer fruits with the sweetness of an oak barrel. There is a nice softness in the nose that sits you on to a soft, sweet floral garden.

The taste is equally bold. The Glenlivet 12 has the classic whiskey notes with vanilla and oak from the oak. It has a round, sweet fruity and floral character with the oak marrying in perfectly. As with the nose, it has a pithy bitterness that gives an old man’s spice. The palate is soft and rounded and leads you on to a lingering finish.

This whisky is one of my favourites (amongst many thanks to my pal Lucy for the recommendation). I love the sweetness of the fruit and floral notes. It has a soft roundness to it that gives the depth and character that is important to any blended scotch you seek. I have really had the same feeling with all the Glenlivet 12 I have had.

This is because it is not an overpowering, sweet tasting, candy floss, high grain and a splash of water or two in your glass. The sweetness of the fruit and the flowers add a nice warmth, something that does not come across as too sweet. The golden hue is especially nice, adding some nice consistency to it.

All in all, I’m very impressed with this one as the Glenlivet distillery is very dear to me and this is simply excellent.

A warmer climate and a greater affection towards Glenlivet scotch whiskies will see a future for this Glenlivet 12.

Glenlivet award winning single malt is smooth, sweet, and full of fruity aromas ranging from peaches, plums, orchard fruits, and straw. All of these aromas originate from the distillation process, which is carried out in a stillroom where the barley is cooked, mashed, fermented and distilled. This process is very laborious and complex, and the result is a great single malt scotch whisky. The malt used for Glenlivetscotch whisky is long-fingered barley, which contains 66% protein.

Glenlivet Whiskey Review:

The whiskies of Glenlivet are high in flavor and very smooth, with a sleek and soft texture. The scotch whisky has an extremely delicate sweetness. This brand of scotch is a truly outstanding example of Scotch whisky. Glenlivet single malt whisky is a grain whisky, which is very good and generous in taste. The single malt scotch has a very smooth and pleasant flavor. The flavor of this scotch is sweet, and it has a rather delicate aroma. The taste of the single malt scotch is absolutely pleasant. The taste of Glenlivet whisky is very concentrated and a bit sweet. The honeyed character of Glenlivet scotch is very evident, but with a balanced dryness.
