A luxurious golden rum from celebrated Nicaraguan distillers Flor de Cana, aged for 18 years in small white oak casks. Marvellously mellow stuff, with notes of nuts, caramel, vanilla and spice followed by a lingering finish.

Flor De Cana 18 Review:

Not at all sweet, but no longer young, it complies with Society of Drinks judges’ record-keeping guidelines with ease.

Phenomenal rum, my personal favorite.

Light, dry, smoky, fruity, slightly spicy and sweet.

What I liked: Very easy to drink. Very subtle. Very nice flavour. The standard for rum is set.

“Fabulous sipping rum. Flor de Cana 18 is the best rum I’ve tasted. It is a blend of aged molasses, Virgin Fino, and aged Cachaca. It’s well worth the price.”

“This has to be the best sipper out there. It’s smooth and mellow whilst still having a kick you don’t quite expect from a sipping rum. The 18 is a great choice for anyones first rum or as an acceptable back up rum.”

“I purchased a bottle of Flor De Cana 18 to try with my Tiki drink I was making for a friends birthday party. I’ve never tried one since lemongrass is difficult to find and pricey on top of that. It was delicious with rum with all of the punch to be expected yet still nice. In fact I will buy a bottle for myself now.”

Flor De Cana 18 Review:

Sweet, smooth, and flavourful with soft floral notes reminiscent of verbena, lavender, white roses, and other fragrant flowers.

Deliciously smooth with very subtle flavouring.

What I liked: Easy to drink. Easy, smooth, pleasant, subtle, and mellow. It doesn’t get much better than this.

“This rum is quality made right here in Cuba but has such a hard to find flavour. It’s also the smoothest rum I have ever had.”

“This is probably the best rum I have ever tasted. It is very smooth and easy to drink. My wife prefers it to all other rums I’ve had.”

“This is my favorite rum. It has the best complexity, taste and complete balance. The difference between this and the XO is that the XO has a better aftertaste while Flor De Cana 18 has the best taste and flavour. Well worth trying.”

“This rum is a must for all rum lovers and for good reason. It is smooth and is all around the best rum I have ever tasted. So much so that I will never drink anything else but Flor de Cana from now on.”

Flor De Cana 18 Review:

“This Flor De Cana rum is very smooth, fresh and delicious, I can’t believe, cost and the quality are so high for this brand as an ambassador of Cuba.”

“The rum is a smooth sipping rum very similar to Havana Club’s, but has a slightly deeper flavor. The 18 works well with cola with a fruity butterscotch aftertaste. You can taste the vanilla and the wood finish.”

“First off, I have to say that this rum was a gift for my wife. But it was a given to me to give it a try. Absolutely fantastic. I will never buy any other rum for my home. Thank You!”

“It’s amazing to think that this rum is made in the same warehouse as Batard (and VS) and Flor de Cana. So this has all the creamy, malty, banana notes built into it. The flavors are smooth and long, so you can gently sip it all night long.”

“It is a smooth sipping rum, made in the same distillery as most of the best rums around, ‘Flor de Cana’. I think they have the best of both worlds in the rum world – strong flavor with a smoothness to it. It’s a little sweet for me but I enjoy it on the rocks. I’m sure this one will be a winner for consumers.”

“This 18-year-old rum has to be the smoothest rum I’ve had so far! Loved the flavor and the nice flavour it leaves after each sip of the rum. How do they do that? It was like drinking the rum was shooting it right down the throat and then slowly absorbing it, but even better.”

“Flor de Caña 18 is a winner across the board for rum. It’s a well-rounded rum that has a complex flavor and is slightly sweet and very smooth. It’s very good and very affordable.”

“This rum is the smoothest I’ve ever tasted. I am not normally a fan of aged Flor de Cana rum, but this is amazing. I am going to buy a bottle of it for any Aussie friends.”

Flor De Cana 18 Review:

Very smooth and sweet with a gentle oaky finish. No indication of wood aging.

Delicate and refined tasting with delicate wood undertones.

What I liked: Easy to drink. Delicate and refined. Pleasant, sweet and smooth.

“I reviewed this rum in its unaged form with my Sublime Cocktail book. I have recently had the privilege of tasting this rum fully aged in an old Cognac cellar master’s home, where he had laid down the Flor de Cana 18, and it was such an eye-opener, you should hear how smooth and how well it complimented the cognac I served it with. Definitely re-ordering of this rum. One of my new all time faves.”

“This is a great rum and I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are a rum novice. You can taste the quality of this rum in the first sip. This rum has a nice burnt caramel hints to it, which keep you coming back for more.”

“This rum is such a delight to drink. It’s so smooth and drinkable, with hints of rum and oak. Even though you would think for the age, that it would overpower the taste of the rum, the balance is perfect.”

“This is a very rich andoaky rum. I had been searching for a rum like this for some time. It is wonderful with a good gin. I really like this rum.”
